St Albans Quakers - Children & Young People

Younger people and children are welcome every Sunday at St Albans Quaker Meeting.  

Children join the Meeting for Worship every Sunday for the first 15 minutes, then they move to another room where activities are laid on for them.  This provides an opportunity for adult members of the meeting to share their faith, knowledge and experience with the children.

Once a month older children and young Friends meet to share a cooked vegetarian breakfast at the meeting house.  This is followed by discussion of topical or other issues of interest following which they normally join the Meeting for Worship towards the end of the period of silence.

SAFEGUARDING OUR CHILDREN
In line with all institutions responsible for the care of children and young people, the Religious Society of Friends has instituted procedures to ensure that Quaker activity takes place in a safe and supportive environment.  These procedures are fully applied within St Albans Meeting and are aimed at ensuring full compliance with the law and with good practice.  References are required for all people working with children and younger people and checks are made with the government's criminal records bureau when new people volunteer.
