12.30 Picnic at the new ‘Quaker wood’, at Wootton, part of the Community Forest, for quiet Worship, blackberrying.

24th - 28th September, All Weekday Evenings, Monday to Friday 19.30 -20.30 Try half an hour of quiet Worship with short
introduction. Questions welcome, refreshments.

27th September, Thursday
12.30 Worship for half an hour and discussion
13.00 Simple buffet lunch
14.30 ‘Working for the Environment’,
talks and discussion - introduction to Ecoteams Project
19.30 - 20.30 Try half an hour of quiet Worship with short
introduction. Questions welcome, refreshments.

Open morning

HEMEL HEMPSTEAD

Information Stall near the Band Stand in the Marlowes pedestrian area.
Friday 21st Sept: 9am – 4pm.

Guided walk to site of original 17th Century Meeting House and Burial Ground at Woodhall Farm. Two hours leisurely walking there and back, exploring some of the remainder lands of that period and returning via the Nicky Line. Weather permitting, refreshments at the Burial Ground.  Meet at Quaker Meeting House. St Mary’s Rd. Old High Street.
Saturday 22nd Sept. 2 pm

Evening of words, music and peace based on `The Armed Man’ by Karl Jenkins. Refreshments. This music was written to leave behind the most war-torn century in human history and look ahead to a new and more peaceful society. The work combines the basic Mass with a variety of poetry and prose and a wide range of musical styles reflecting the multicultural, global society we live in.
Venue: The Quaker Meeting House, St Mary’s Rd, Old High Street.
Sunday 23rd Sept. 6.15 for 6.30 pm – til 7.30 pm

Programme for teachers. An invitation is extended to teachers of young people of all ages to explore ways of introducing their students to the historical, religious, social and environmental contribution of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). Tea on arrival then discussion and visual presentations focussing on “Who are Quakers? What do they believe?”
Venue: The Quaker Meeting House, St Mary’s Rd, Old High Street.
Monday 24th Sept. 4 pm for 4.30 pm – til 6 pm

Meeting House Open Days
An open invitation to enjoy the Meeting House and garden, view our library and displays. (These will include posters and some embroidery worked on the Quaker Tapestry.) Join us for a cup of tea.

Saturday 29 Sept. 10 am-4pm

Our regular Meeting for Worship takes place every Sunday at 10.30 am. All are welcome, including children.

MILTON KEYNES

Drop-in sessions with a display of current Quaker work, life-sized reproductions of the Quaker tapestry, the United Nations charter granting Milton Keynes the status of Peace Messenger City and refreshments plus a local Quaker on hand to answer any questions


Introduction to Quakerism Evening with 3 talks followed by discussion plus the opportunity to experience Quaker silent worship  - Wednesday 26th September, 7.00 pm-9.30 pm

Celebration of the 21st birthday of Milton Keynes Quaker Centre with drop-in session followed by tree-planting by the Mayor of Milton Keynes, a performance of readings that illustrate the Quaker experience and circle dancing.

ST ALBANS

Open Day at St Albans Meeting House:
Tuesday 25 September, 10.30 am – 8.30 pm

We will be around to chat with you, share ideas on spirituality & the Quaker way. There is a wide range of perspectives of belief in St Albans meeting, come & find out. We have planned some time for talks & questions & some time for our quiet worship. Also we have leaflets, books & refreshments.

The session from 3.45 is designed for parents & carers to call in after school, therefore snacks & children’s activities will be available from 3.45 to 4.45pm.

Planned session times are:
o 10.30 – 11.30 am
o 1.30 – 2.30 pm
o 3.45 – 4.45 pm
o 7.30 - 8.30 pm
